Text Box: September 30, 2006 - We've arrived in Carlinville, Illinois, and were greeted by Assembly of God RVers who have a heart for ministry just like us.  There are at least 200 or more RVs already here, and the entire sight is just unbelievable!  There are no strangers here!  Tonight is the official kick-off, and tomorrow services are at 10:00 with a barbecue afterwards.  We've already met some people who worked on the Charleston church that was Bob's first project.  It's a small world, even though people are here from as far away as Alaska.  It's very exciting, and we feel completely blessed to be able to be a part of it.

October 2, 2006 - The convention officially began yesterday, and I am not eloquent enough to fully describe our reaction to this wonderful gathering.  Church was not just church, but rather, a gathering of dedicated workers who love God and who want to expand the Kingdom by building new churches, rebuilding old ones, building youth centers, building whatever is needed to accomplish the Great Commission our Lord gave us.  There is a strong sense of belonging here, and we are definitely on the mountain top right now.  The real world, however, is at the bottom of the mountain, not the top, and we are preparing ourselves to go back into it wherever God leads us to go.  Right now, we're both leaning toward Jacksonville, FL, where there is a need to build a Teen Challenge quarters.  Our hearts' desire for the remainder of the convention is to seek God's will for us so that we'll know we're going in the right direction.  We have been called into the ministry, and there has never been a doubt about this, and now we need to make sure our plans are His and not of our own making.  It would be easy to follow others we've met just so we can be together, but both Bob and I know that's not what we're supposed to do, so more on our next destination later.  At this point, Disney World is not an option for us to spend the last 3 months of 2006.  That was something we wanted to do for fun, and we know that's not where God is calling us!

October 3, 2006 - We are here at Our lives are changing drastically and rapidly, and we now understand that we are a part of something much larger than we realized.  There are presently 96 projects going on throughout the US, including Puerto Rico, Alaska and Hawaii, where the workers go without their rigs obviously.  We don't fully understand why God called us into this ministry of volunteer workers, and on the surface, we still don't know how it will be possible for us to do this full-time since we have no retirement funds, but one thing we know and that is that we are privileged and blessed to be part of this.  Our hearts are willing to go wherever He wants us to go and to do whatever He calls us to do.  And we Bless the name of Jesus Christ and raise Him up as God of the universe and as our very own savior.
