Summer, 2009 - On the Road Again |
Boy, God is so amazing when He deals with us! In Texas this past winter, we thought we would not be able to travel much, but then a door opened for us to go to Springfield, MO to work with Teen Challenge. After being there three weeks, renovations were finished on their new building, and Carrie received notice that Social Security Disability had come through so she would not have to work again. We are back on the road again! From Springfield to Edwardsville, IL and then from there to Cleveland, OH, we began our summer excitement. Making sure we visited Lake Erie first and then the Science Museum and port area of Cleveland, we will be anxious for the three weeks in Cleveland to pass by so we can hit the road again and ultimately end up in New England to spend time with the grandchildren. |

Part of our route was to visit Valley Forge Christian College in PA. We were there 3 weeks and worked with some wonderful people. Bob helped put together a new sound booth. Malcolm Wagner and Ed Evans were just two of the men he worked with. |
Part of the fun of being in New England was the chance to visit with friends and family. Even our son-in-law, James, got into the act by taking over Carrie’s kayak! The church in Damariscotta, ME repeated a lobsterfest they had hosted in 2007. and as you can see, we weren’t hurting for lobsters. |
We had a chance to visit Gloucester and Ipswich, MA with friends. |
After New England, we headed to New York, and took advantage of being close to Niagara Falls. The lighthouse is at Lake Ontario, Sodus Point, NY. |

This is a view from the bridge going from Canada into Port Huron, MI. We spent 3 hours trying to make our way 5 miles down the road—it was awful! Once on the bridge, we spent another half hour idling our engine—not good for the transmission! |
