As was the case last year, the convention was a time to see old friends from past projects and make new friends. We felt a stirring and a nudge to learn more about the caravan that goes to Alaska each summer to repair and rebuild churches. We went to the meeting and were sold on the idea. If God’s plans for us include Alaska, that is where we will be for the summer of 2008; otherwise, we will be working on projects in the lower 48.
As diesel fuel prices rise and the economy slows, we received a phone call from Sarah, giving us the great news that she is engaged and will be married in August. Carrie and I will be in Illinois in July and August to help. So we leave Florida and the first stop will be Valdosta GA, where we will be helping on a MAPS project at The Rock Assembly of God Church.
Arrived at Valdosta, staying at the River Park RV Park. I started right in placing tile and hanging lights with joy. There is such a great satisfaction in working on MAPS projects— it just overwhelms me sometimes. Will do our best for the period that we are here. Next destination will be Illinois to see our daughter, Sarah, and then to Springfield, MO to help on the next project. What a great life style!

Went Kayaking with our MAPS RV friends Ed and Barbara at Bunch lake near Valdosta Georgia. Carrie this followed me home can I have it?
We finished the Church on the Rock project at Valdosta Ga. And made our way to Lake Murphysboro Illinois where we went for 2 weeks to be with our daughter Sarah who is now engaged to be married. We stayed at a state campground right on the lake that was very nice.
